R0015 - Scottish Parliament bar

The Scottish Parliament is the most significant and symbolic building to be built in Scotland for a generation and you will be hard pushed to find a Scot who does not have an opinion on it. This bar tells the story of Spanish architect Enric Miralles’s show stopping creation.

Indulge in the finest quality handmade chocolate while you unwrap fascinating facts about one of Scotland’s newest and most spectacular landmarks. Created by talented Scottish chocolatiers amidst the beautiful rolling hills of south west Scotland, it’s as delicious as it is absorbing. History has never tasted so good!

TASTE OF THE TEXT Rumour has it that it’s not just the politicians who have been subject to a grilling at the Scottish Parliament. Around 1707 in Queensberry House, which has now been incorporated into the overall new building, a previous occupant, the second Duke of Queensberry, was attempting to placate crowds during a public disturbance. At the same time his son was trying to restore order in his own unique way by roasting a servant boy on a spit; the oven is still visible today in the Parliament’s Allowances office.
